ABOUT
KiLNE is a contemporary nu-marching band made up of equal parts brass and drums, with a mission to spread positivity and inclusiveness through the joy of electronic music. It was formed in Stoke-on-Trent in 2023 by professional musicians Danny Shaw and Ben Oakes and contains up to twenty members for live performances.
After getting a huge reaction to the video, KiLNE released their debut single, “(It Goes Like) Nanana”, a cover of the Peggy Gou instant classic, in June 2024 to coincide with their appearance at Glastonbury Music Festival, which was their second ever live performance.
Further single releases followed through 2024 and 2025 which were collected together in their first EP release ‘T-Minus 5’. The EP contains covers of songs from the electronic music world, all re-worked in KiLNE’s unique style and serving as an introduction to their sound.
Alongside their music releases, KiLNE have been building their reputation as a live band, performing at various festivals in 2025, including Loopfest (Shrewsbury), Byline Festival (Keele) and headlining the centenary parade in their hometown in June (it rained!).
In October 2025 BBC Radio invited KiLNE to record a live session at the legendary Maida Vale studios in London, which was broadcast on BBC Introducing in November.
KiLNE are currently working on new music for release in 2026.
